Lesson Plan
Hope Church · Sunday School
One clear sentence the children will repeat all lesson — e.g. “God is our Creator.”
What do you want the children to know, feel or do by the end?
Bible, craft materials, pictures…

Teaching Plan

a guide, not a script — adapt your pace to the children
Welcome± 5 MIN
Greet each child by name. An opening question to get everyone chatting.
Opening Prayer
Short and simple — thank God and ask for help to listen to His Word.
Worship± 5 MIN
Two or three songs — the handbook song list is a good place to start.
Introduction± 5 MIN
An attention-getter — objects, pictures or a question that leads into the story.
Bible Story± 10–15 MIN
Read or retell the passage. Note the key moments — and where you’ll repeat the Big Truth. What does it show us about God? How does it point to Jesus?
Big Truth
Say it together several times. A question and answer works well — “Who made the world?” “God is our Creator!”
Memory Verse
Say it together several times. How will you practise it — actions, echo, leader & response?
Discussion Questions
A few of each — younger children answer “what happened”, older children can tackle “why”.
Recall — what happened?
Understanding — what does it mean?
Application — what about us?
Craft
Something that reinforces the Big Truth — note what you’ll make and the steps. Simpler for little hands, more detail for older ones.
Closing Prayer
Thank God for what you’ve learned. You could invite the children to pray too.
Leader Notes
Little tips and reminders for yourself.
